Biosketch

After graduation, he worked as a general dentist in Jordan for seven years, serving five years as a military dentist in the Royal Medical Services (RMS). He joined the UNC Adams School of Dentistry graduate prosthodontics program in 2005.

Duqum is a Fellow of the International College of Dentists and a member of numerous dental organizations. He was the recipient of the 2014 Richard Hunt Memorial Award for Teaching Excellence and the 2015 UNC-Chapel Hill nominee for the OKU Charles Craig national award for the best innovative dental educator. Duqum serves as an editorial board member and reviewer for multiple dental journals.

Duqum is actively involved in patient care and is a member of UNC-CH dental implant team. He teaches all aspects of prosthodontic therapy at the graduate, clinical and predoctoral levels. Duqum publishes and lectures about all aspects of prosthodontic and dental implant therapy.

Research Interests

All ceramic restorations, digital dentistry in both restorative and implant dentistry, CAD/CAM in dentistry, osseointegration and survival and success of dental implants, edentulism and attachments for complete dentures, survival and success of dental extracoronal restorations, dental educational research and application of digital dentistry in dental education
