Jesse Woon

Jesse Woon, DMD, Periodontology Class of 2024, was born and raised in Richmond, Virginia. He attended the University of Richmond where he graduated with his Bachelor of Science in Biology.

After completing his undergraduate degree, Woon worked as a medical scribe for a rheumatologist in Richmond before moving to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where he obtained his Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine.

During his time in dental school, he completed two certificate programs in dental public health and teaching. He was involved research, tutoring, and was chair of student education for the American Student Dental Association. Prior to graduation, he was inducted in the Omicron Kappa Upsilon dental honor society.

After graduating dental school, he moved to Chapel Hill to start his periodontology residency at the UNC Adams School of Dentistry.

In his spare time, Woon enjoys spending time with friends, traveling, and spending time in nature by hiking and fishing.
