Moreland Elected to Student Delegate for American Dental Hygienists Association

Gina Moreland, D.H. Candidate 2015, was elected to serve as the student delegate for the American Dental Hygienists Association (ADHA).

“It’s such an honor to be elected to this position,” said Moreland. “I’m looking forward to representing UNC dental hygiene and the rest of the dental hygiene students within the district.”

Moreland will represent students in North Carolina, Florida, Georgia and South Carolina. As a delegate, she will attend the ADHA annual conference in Nevada and sit on the floor of the House of Delegates during their meetings. ADHA will support her through funding to cover her airfare, lodging, transportation and the cost of the workshop. The conference is being held in June.

“We’re really proud of Gina for her initiative to apply for this position and we’re confident she’ll do a great job representing dental hygiene,” said Vickie Overman, director of the undergraduate dental hygiene program. “This is a great opportunity for her as she continues to pursue her career in dental hygiene.”
