Malawi Project

August 21, 2005, UNC SOD 2005 Malawi Project Team returned from their successful mission in ‘The Warm Heart of Africa.’ During their enriching experience, the team provided dental treatment at Kamazu Central Hospital, Bottom Hospital and urban and rural setting orphanages. The primary treatment modalities provided at the orphanages were: education in Oral Health and Hygiene, HIV/AIDS awareness and risk associations. While at KCH and Bottom Hospital, the team provided emergency, preventive and restorative care. The team consisted of two DDS 2007 and two DDS 2008 candidates, respectively Storm Briggs, Joseph Norman, Jennifer Johnson and Shamik Vakil.
