Biosketch
Dr. Roxanne Mariola Dsouza-Norwood is an assistant professor of dental hygiene programs. In her role at the Adams School of Dentistry, she provides didactic and clinical instruction to undergraduate dental hygiene students, graduate dental hygiene education students, and predoctoral dental students. Dr. Dsouza-Norwood is the second-year dental hygiene clinical director, the Dental Hygiene Honors Thesis Program departmental liaison, and directs courses in both the graduate and undergraduate dental hygiene programs. She has active roles in committee service and research, including mentoring students in research projects. She has experience in clinical research, interprofessional education research, and educational methodology research. She has presented her research nationally and has published several peer-reviewed articles and abstracts in scientific journals. Additionally, she has experience with grant writing and clinical dental hygiene practice. She is an active member in the American Dental Hygienists’ Association, American Dental Education Association, and Sigma Phi Alpha.
