Biosketch
Dr. Priscilla Lazari is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Prosthodontics at the Adams School of Dentistry, University of North Carolina. She earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from São Paulo State University (UNESP), Brazil, in 2010. In 2013, she obtained a Master of Science in Prosthodontics from the State University of Campinas (Unicamp). In 2015, she was a visiting scholar at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles. She later completed her Ph.D. in Prosthodontics at Unicamp in 2017, focusing on the biomimetic restoration of endodontically treated teeth (ETT). In 2022, Dr. Lazari-Carvalho concluded her postdoctoral fellowship at the Federal University of Goiás, where she specialized in optimizing techniques for ETT rehabilitation.
Dr. Lazari-Carvalho is actively involved in teaching, mentoring students, and leading research groups in the field of Prosthodontics. Her most recent research focuses on finite element analysis, bond strength testing, fracture resistance, and fatigue resistance. Throughout her academic career, she has published numerous papers in prestigious peer-reviewed journals and contributed to four book chapters, primarily on prosthetic rehabilitation of endodontically treated teeth and implant-supported prostheses.
With over a decade of experience practicing dentistry in Brazil, Dr. Lazari specializes in oral rehabilitation and prosthodontics. She currently provides patient care at the Dental Faculty Practice at the Adams School of Dentistry, UNC-Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
