Research Summary

My research objectives are to identify genetic variants influencing pain sensitivity, likelihood of developing chronic pain diseases, and response to pain therapy. I am interested in developing and conducting pharmacogenetics clinical trials translating basic research findings into clinical practice. Recently, my efforts have concentrated on studying the effect of catecholamine-O-methyltransferase gene polymorphism on response to beta-adrenergic blocker therapy in patients with temporomandibular joint disorder.
