ACDE: Treating Anterior Discolorations: Micro-abrasions, Resin Infiltration, and Bleaching

The UNC Adams School of Dentistry in conjunction with the Association for Continuing Dental Education (ACDE), along with 30 of its member schools jointly presents the “ACDE LIVE Webinar Series.”

This series features university-based key opinion leaders presenting numerous topics on multiple dates and times. Presentations are available to meet every dental health care professional’s schedule and interests.

Webinar Description

Not every patient who has discolorations on their front teeth needs to have veneers. Minimally invasive treatments, such as microabrasion, resin infiltration, or just bleaching may allow patients to achieve an esthetically-pleasing esthetic outcome without the tooth removal and maintenance required with veneers. And many patients have small discolorations for which they desire esthetic improvement but do not wish to undergo veneers. Treating these lesions can be relatively easy with these minimally invasive treatments. Therefore, the aim of this course is to help the clinician determine which treatment is suited for different types of lesions, to make the clinician familiar with the different products available, and to show the clinician the tips and pitfalls of each procedure.

Educational Objectives:

Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to:

  • Teach the diagnosis of different types of tooth discolorations
  • Describe the products available
  • Present a step-by-step method for each treatment
