As implant therapy becomes increasingly commoditized, we must be conscious of not to letting our ambition outrun our ability. Those involved in the surgical, restorative, and maintenance phases of implantology may have a significant impact on the longevity of the eventual restoration. Via a live narrated Zoom PowerPoint presentation followed by a Q&A period, this course focuses on the treatment planning, technical, and maintenance aspects of implant surgery which can mean the difference between durable success and deteriorating failure.
Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to:
- Be aware of how periodontal and peri-implant health affect long-term implant stability
- Be aware of how the position and angulation of an implant affect long-term implant stability
- Be aware of how maintenance protocols affect long-term implant stability
- Be aware of what you can do to manage these various phases of implantology, regardless of whether they’re placing the implant, restoring the implant, or both
