Cannabis consumption is at an all-time high in the United States. Marijuana is the most commonly used illicit drug. Legalization in several states, and pending legislation in many others, has amplified the need for medical providers to understand how the drug not only affects a patient’s physical health but their psychological well-being as well.
Educational Objectives
Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to:
- Describe the medical indication of marijuana
- Describe the demographic characteristics of marijuana users
- Understand how marijuana affects an individual
- Understand the professional and legal implications of marijuana use for the dental profession
