Programs and Initiatives
Bridge to Dentistry
The Bridge to Dentistry program is our signature initiative, bringing together prospective dental students from across the nation for hands-on exposure to the world of dentistry.

Held both in-person and virtually, this immersive experience introduces participants to the academic rigor, dynamic student life, and diverse career opportunities that define a dental education at UNC ASOD.
Participants engage with dental faculty, current students, and fellow future professionals, forming connections and gaining valuable insights into what it takes to succeed in the field. UNCRoots Initiative
Established to give high school students the opportunity to explore dentistry through engaging, hands-on experiences. By incorporating interactive activities, informative presentations, and exposure to dental research, the initiative aims to ignite interest in dentistry and offer a foundational understanding of the profession.
Virtual Dentistry: Shadowing
A cutting-edge way for prospective students to gain insights into the dental profession. Participants virtually observe UNC faculty and students in action, watching procedures from multiple camera angles with live commentary and Q&A opportunities.
Virtual Engagement Events
An accessible and interactive way for prospective students to learn about the admissions process, connect with faculty, and enhance their preparation for dental school.

Pre-dental students can experience the UNC Adams School of Dentistry through our guided tours, hosted by our Barakat Student Ambassadors.
In addition to the tours, our office offers presentations led by the Assistant Dean of Student Recruitment, providing prospective students with valuable information about the admissions process, academic programs, and student life at UNC.
