Jane Kopczynski passes away at age 90
Jane Kopczynski, who practiced for many years as a clinical dental hygienist before becoming the Risk Manager, Quality Assurance at Adams School of Dentistry, has passed away at age 90. You can read her obituary here. A funeral mass will be held Monday, Aug. 26 at 1 p.m. at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Cary.
Jane worked at the school for many years, and her family, including her granddaughter and ASOD alum Kayla Kopczynski, DDS ‘21, established the DFNC-held Jane Kopczynski Complete Dental Care (CDC) Fund in 2021. The patient rep office is also named for Jane, as she was one of ASOD’s very first Patient Care Coordinators, and “Jane’s Place” is located on on the fourth floor of Brauer Hall.
The fund permanently supports free clinics that provide important care for patients who are underserved and uninsured, and it creates important opportunities for our DDS students to meet their clinical experience requirements as they provide this patient care in our school.
