Chichi Adeleke, Orthodontics Class of 2025, grew up in Ames, Iowa with her parents and two older brothers. Growing up, she played volleyball and basketball, ran track, and was a competitive dancer for 12 years. She attended the University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, PA and received a Bachelor of Science in microbiology and africana studies with a minor in chemistry.

After completing her undergraduate studies, Chichi headed back to her home state where she attended the University of Iowa College of Dentistry and earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. In dental school, her passion for diversity, equity, and inclusion within the dental field lead her to re-establish the college’s Student National Dental Association chapter, which had been inactive for nearly a decade, and she served as its president for 3 years. She also served on the collegiate Student Advisory Board, where she had the pleasure of being an advocate for the mental and physical well-being of the collegiate body. In doing so, she was a part of the first cohort of students at the University of Iowa to be Green Bandana trained, she still wears her green bandana on her backpack with pride!

Chichi is ecstatic and grateful to be a part of the orthodontic program at the UNC Adams School of Dentistry and looking forward to falling in love with Chapel Hill! Outside of orthodontics, Chichi enjoys weightlifting, collecting sneakers, and spending quality time with her friends and family.
