Koby Martin, DDS, Periodontology Class of 2024, is a native of North Carolina. As an avid Tar Heel fan, he chose to attend UNC-Chapel Hill where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. While pursuing his undergraduate degree, Koby was a peer tutor and active member of the school’s chapter of the biological honor society.
After completing his undergraduate degree, he continued his education at UNC-Chapel Hill to complete his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. As a dental student, Koby served as the events committee chair of ASDA for one year and later co-founded the periodontics interest group. Also wanting to get involved in research, Koby completed a short-term research fellowship investigating caspase-1 inhibition in experimental periodontitis.
Koby likes spending his time with friends and listening to live music. He also takes advantage of UNC-Chapel Hill’s sports scene and attends sporting events throughout the year.
