Teebok Choe, Periodontology Class of 2023, was born in Baltimore, Maryland. He and his family then moved to Busan, South Korea when he was one year old. He attended UNC-Chapel Hill and received his Bachelor of Science in biology. He then attended UNC Greensboro for two years for a post-baccalaureate, trying to find his life’s passion. That’s when he decided on dentistry.
He then pursued a Master of Science degree in medical sciences at Mississippi College in Clinton, Mississippi. Upon graduating, he began working at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry as a research assistant in periodontology and was accepted to their dental school the following year.
During his four years at Maryland, he served as class president and co-founded the Business Management Club, which allowed students to speak with private practice dentists about the business aspects of dentistry.
Upon graduating, Choe was accepted to the Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency program at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry where he served as chief resident for 2 years.
In his spare time, Choe likes to work with his hands, whether it’s working on his car, or his home. In the future, he plans to work with his father in Fayetteville, North Carolina and carry on the legacy of providing excellent dental care to his patients.
