Jones Begins Appointment as Director of Support Services

Effective April 2019, Tanya S. Jones began her appointment as the UNC-CH Adams School of Dentistry’s Director of Support Services.

In this role, Jones is responsible for the management of service-related functions including capital and minor renovation program management, building maintenance, receiving and distribution and more, in support of clinical, research, teaching and administrative units and programs.

“We are excited to welcome Tanya as our new director for support services. Tanya brings a wealth of experience as a facilities planner at the UNC-CH School of Medicine, and I am confident she will elevate the level of our support services team even higher,” said Executive Dean André Ritter, DDS, MS, MBA

Jones completed her undergraduate studies at Chowan University in Murfeesboro, North Carolina, where she studied photography. She worked as a photo technician at the Adams School of Dentistry’s Learning Research Center in 1992 before transitioning to the planning office at the UNC-CH School of Medicine.

Jones served as a facilities planner at the School of Medicine for nearly 15 years. While there, she worked on several capital campaigns and provided support for more than 30 buildings. Jones’ unique visualization skills allowed her to convert undesirable spaces into productive work environments and reorganize existing pace to become more functional.

“I am excited to return to the Adams School of Dentistry to lead and serve the support services team and to provide support for day-to-day operations as well as the school’s revitalization, said Jones.
