Kelsky Appointed Assistant Dean for Human Resources
Effective May 1, 2017, Jaime Kelsky began her appointment as the UNC School of Dentistry assistant dean for human resources.
“I am thrilled to have the opportunity to contribute more significantly to the School of Dentistry,” said Kelsky. “We have a great team in the Office of Human Resources; it is wonderful to be part of a group that is so focused on service. It is exciting to foster a warm and healthy environment for staff, faculty, students and administration, and also to continue making our administrative processes operate smoothly and accurately.”
In her role, Kelsky provides direct management over the school’s Office of Human Resources; provides advice and counsel concerning employee relations matters; works with school departments and units to create and implement staff development programs; and is the lead representative for the school in human resources policy development and interpretation.
“I am excited that we are able to keep Jaime at the helm of our human resources unit at the school,” said Scott S. De Rossi, dean and professor. “She possesses a wealth of institutional knowledge from her years of service to the school and the University, and she showed great leadership and vision while serving as interim assistant dean.”
Kelsky earned her Bachelor of Arts and her Master of Arts from Florida State University. She began her career path in human resources in 2006, when she took a position in Florida State University’s Office of Human Resources. She first worked as a human relations specialist and later as an assistant director. After relocating to North Carolina, Kelsky joined the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She served in human relations roles for the Office of the Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost before joining the UNC School of Dentistry in 2013. At the school, Kelsky has acted as a human relations consultant and also interim assistant dean of human relations prior to this role. She also holds her professional in human relations certification (2009) and earned her Society for Human Resource Management certification in 2015.
