Tawil Named Tar Heel Endodontic Association President
Peter Z. Tawil, Jacob and Charlotte Freedland Term Professor in the Department of Endodontics, was recently appointed president of the Tar Heel Endodontic Association (THEA). His appointment will last two years.
“It’s been a great experience connecting UNC and our department to outside endodontists through THEA,” said Tawil. “This gives our department the opportunity to have a great symbiotic relationship with THEA. I’ve enjoyed the experience of being vice-president and I look forward to the next two years as president.”
As president, Tawil will oversee THEA business and lead the organization to meet its annual objectives and goals. He will also run the annual THEA symposium, which will take place in Chapel Hill in 2015 and 2016. The organization, which is an affiliate of the American Association of Endodontics, represents and promotes the interests of endodontists in the state of North Carolina, and a high standard of care in endodontic practice. Since its founding in 1972, THEA has served as a positive influence for endodontics in North Carolina.
