Schroeders Begins Appointment as Associate Dean for Financial Affairs
Jackie Schroeders recently began her appointment as associate dean for finance for the UNC School of Dentistry. The appointment officially began on July 15, 2014.
“It is an honor to join the UNC at Chapel Hill School of Dentistry, which has a leading reputation in so many aspects of research and academia,” said Schroeders. “I look forward to leveraging my background in finance and clinical operations to best serve the dental school, and sincerely appreciate the warm welcome received from faculty and staff. I have put away the Rutgers red and now proudly wear the Carolina blue.”
In her new role, Schroeders is responsible for finance strategy and internal controls, budgeting, personnel action support, patient business services, billing and collection functions, audit support and clinical financial operations.
“We’re thrilled that Jackie chose to join us here at UNC,” said Dean Jane Weintraub. “She is a wonderful fit for this position, as demonstrated both by her expertise and her willingness to dive right in, and I know everyone is looking forward to working with her.”
Schroeders was formerly the vice president of finance/CFO from the Rutgers School of Dental Medicine. She has a career in finance that spans over 20 years, with a BA from Rutgers University in accounting and a concentration in computer science, and an MBA from UC Berkeley Haas School of Business. She worked as vice president of finance/controller for an international financial services company that went through a successful initial public offering (IPO). Schroeders started her career as an auditor with Ernst & Young and then later joined Knight-Ridder, Inc., where she advanced from an internal auditor to director of financial operations.
