Moreland Wins Allied Dental Student Scholarship

Gina Moreland, D.H. Candidate 2015, was selected as a recipient of an American Dental Association (ADA) Foundation Allied Dental Student Scholarship for Dental Hygiene. As a recipient, Moreland will receive $1,000 towards her education during the 2014 academic year.

“I am thrilled to receive this scholarship and honored to represent the UNC dental hygiene program in this way” said Moreland. “Thank you to the dental hygiene faculty and staff for providing opportunities for us to excel in our profession and as members of our community.”

The ADA Foundation Allied Dental Scholarships are offered annually to lessen the financial burden of dental assisting, dental hygiene and dental laboratory technology students. To qualify for the scholarship, Moreland had to maintain a GPA of 3.5, demonstrate a financial need and submit two recommendation forms with the application. The program is designed to facilitate the education of promising students pursuing a career in an allied dental field.
