ASDA Chapter to Host Dr. Chuck Norman, School Alumnus and ADA President-Elect on April 11

The UNC chapter of the American Student Dental Association (ASDA) plans to host 1977 UNC D.D.S. graduate and current ADA President-Elect Dr. Chuck Norman for a lunchtime presentation about his experience in dentistry and goals as ADA president.

“We thought it would be interesting to hear Dr. Norman talk about his involvement with organized dentistry and how that led him to become ADA president-elect,” explained Lauren Katz, D.D.S. Candidate 2015 and ASDA pre-dental committee chair. “The student body is proud to have a Tar Heel in such an important office, so we’re all really excited he’s agreed to come speak to us.”

Norman’s presentation will be held on Thursday, April 11 in the Kirkland Auditorium at 1 p.m. The event is open to all students, faculty and staff. The presentation, which offers one hour of CE credit, will open to a question and answer session at the end of Norman’s remarks. For those attending, lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m. prior to the presentation.

Interested student attendees should RSVP online by signing up here. The event is available to the first 175 students who register. School faculty and staff are also invited to attend but are not asked to RSVP prior to the meeting.

“This is a really exciting event,” said Matt Corbin, D.D.S. Candidate 2015 and ASDA co-president. “Dr. Norman shares our enthusiasm, so I know that everyone in attendance will be inspired and enlightened after the presentation.”
