Dr. Janet Guthmiller, associate dean for academic affairs, was appointed as the new associate editor for oral health at MedEdPORTAL Publications.
As an associate editor, Guthmiller will apply her extensive experience in dental education, research, service and administration to encourage submissions for MedEdPORTAL. She will also be responsible for securing reviewers and promoting MedEdPORTAL Publications to the dental education community.
“I’m excited about this opportunity within MedEdPORTAL,” said Guthmiller. “It will be invigorating to promote MedEdPORTAL and encourage submissions by dental faculty as well as collaborative efforts of health affairs faculty regarding interprofessional educational models and assessments.”
In this role, Dr. Guthmiller will work alongside staff from both the American Dental Education Association and the Association of American Medical Colleges, as well as Dr. Christopher Candler, MedEdPORTAL editor-in-chief.
“Dr. Guthmiller values ambition, critical thinking, high-quality research, and collaboration in the dental education community, all of which are essential to the work of AAMC and MedEdPORTAL,” said Christopher S. Candler, M.D., Ed.D., MedEdPORTAL editor-in-chief. “We are thrilled to appoint such an accomplished voice in the field.”
MedEdPORTAL is a free publication service provided by the Association of American Medical Colleges in partnership with the American Dental Education Association.
