Talley, Long-Time School Dental Assistant, Passes Away

Mrs. Faye Pruitt Talley, who worked at the School of Dentistry for 33 years, passed away on Sunday, July 15. She was 68 years old.

During her time at the UNC School of Dentistry, Talley worked as a dental assistant and as a sterilization technician in the school’s dental clinics. Outside of the school, she was an active member of the American Dental Assistant Association and the Alamance-Caswell Dental Assistant Society. She is remembered as a dear employee and friend to many in the school.

After her retirement from the school, Talley enjoyed designing floral arrangements and spending time with her family.

Talley is survived by her husband, Kenneth Talley of Durham; her godson, Blair Bowland of Burlington; two sisters, Shirley Patterson and husband Charles of Burlington, and Christine Rice and husband Robert of Mebane; two brothers, Curtis Pruitt and wife Annette of Yanceyville, and Earnest Pruitt and wife Judy of Snow Camp; many nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
