Kang Joins Department of Pediatric Dentistry

Dr. Jina Kang recently joined the Department of Pediatric Dentistry as an assistant professor. She received her Bachelor of Arts from Furman University in Greenville, S.C. where she majored in Asian studies with a concentration in Chinese studies. Upon graduating from Furman University, she spent one year teaching in China.

Since then, Dr. Kang has traveled to Asia, Latin America, and Africa and has provided free dental care to various underserved communities. She received her D.M.D. from the Medical University of South Carolina, is a recent graduate of the UNC Department of Pediatric Dentistry residency program, and holds a Masters in Science, Pediatric Dental Certificate and Global Public Health Certificate.

In her current role, Dr. Kang will to teach pre-doctoral students, develop oral health care programs at the Durham Country Health Department and treat pediatric dental patients in the Dental Faculty Practice.
