SNDA Taking Control of Your Diabetes

On October 30, 2004, the Student National Dental Association (SNDA) participated in the 7th Annual Taking Control of Your Diabetes Conference and Health Fair, held at the Raleigh Convention Center. The conference was designed to educate diabetics on the latest technology and health information dealing with diabetes. Along with the help of Dr. Janet Southerland, SNDA was able to provide free dental screenings, and inform people living with diabetes of the importance in maintaining good oral health and the effects their oral cavity could have on their diabetes. Many of the people screened appeared to be motivated to take proper care of their teeth and gums, and all were grateful for the free toothbrushes and toothpaste!
