Student National Dental Association Receives Recognition at Annual Conference

Members of the Student National Dental Association (SNDA) of the UNC School of Dentistry recently attended the organization’s annual conference held July 30 – August 4, 2004 in Los Angeles, California. Several members received special recognition and were elected to national positions during the meeting. Damon Ross, a third year dental student, was chosen for the position of President-elect. Storm Briggs, a second year dental student, will serve as the organization’s next Treasurer-elect. Ross also received special recognition from the National Dental Association during the annual President’s Gala for outstanding service to the organization. In addition, current UNC SNDA chapter president Brandi Jackson, a third year dental student, received the Darryl M. Hawkins Memorial Scholarship award. The chapter also received an award in the annual scrapbook competition, which was created by Jonelle Grant and Tiky Swain.
