Dental Research in Review Day 2004 with Mark Herzberg

On Wednesday February 11, 2004, the UNC School of Dentistry will hold its Dental Research in Review Day.

77 students, staff, and faculty will present original research findings through-out the day in the form of poster or oral presentations.

The poster session will take place from 8:30 to 11:00 on the 3rd floor lobby of Tarrson Hall.

Four oral sessions will take place from 10:00 to 11:00 and from 2:00 to 4:00 in Brauer 04, Brauer 407, Old Dental 150 and Old Dental 3180. See the link below for presentations times and locations.

From 11:15 to 12:15, Mark Herzberg, DDS, PhD, Professor of Oral Sciences from the University of Minnesota, School of Dentistry will give his keynote address in Brauer 407 on the topic “Mucosal Biofilms, or How You Co-exist with Microbial Slime”.

Lunch and Learn seminars will be held from 12:30 to 1:30 in various seminar rooms. Attendants need to sign-up for these on the web-site at the link below. Seven presenters will discuss seven separate selected topics related to dental research.

Hands-On Workshops will take place from 4:00 to 5:00. Attendants also need to sign-up for these and have a choice between dentistry and research topics.

Students can apply for an elective course credit by attending various events of the day. The form is available at the Elective Credit link.

Finally, Awards will be presented to Students for the best presentations at the Award Ceremony that will take place at 5:00 in Brauer 04.
