Kelly Almond appointed Executive Director Of the UNC Dental Alumni Association
I am very pleased to announce that Kelly Almond has been appointed executive director of the Dental Alumni Association (DAA), effective January 1, 2004. Almond, who has served the School of Dentistry since July 2001 as associate director of the Dental Foundation of North Carolina, will retain her role within the Foundation while taking responsibility for directing the activities of the DAA. Included in those responsibilities will be editing the School’s semi-annual publication, North Carolina Dental Review; planning alumni reunion and networking events; and developing a strong student relations program.
Kelly will be assisted in her new role by Jennie Boone who will serve as executive secretary to the DAA. Pursuant to this appointment, the DAA now operates out of the Dean’s Office, 1090 Old Dental Building. The telephone number remains the same.
In closing, please join me in welcoming and congratulating Kelly on assuming her new leadership position in the DAA. I hope you will give her your fullest cooperation as we seek to create an exciting and purposeful future for the Dental Alumni Association.
