New Center for School of Dentistry
We are pleased to announce the creation of the Center for Educational Development and Informatics effective 1 January 2004. This Center will be associated with the Office of Academic Affairs and will be responsible for the development and deployment of educational and research materials that support, most particularly, the teaching/learning mission of the School. This Center is critically important to the future of our Institution, and it will greatly enhance our ability to generate a stronger, School of Dentistry-based, innovative, and multi-facetted teaching/learning environment that incorporates current and emerging information technology platforms.
We are also most pleased to announce that Ms. Sharon Grayden has agreed to direct the Center. As former Director of Institutional and Community Relations, she brings more than 25 years of outstanding managerial and educational experience to this position. Under her direction, the Center promises to develop into a nationally recognized unit that facilitates student learning, assists in faculty/staff development, supports instructional design, and further advances the assessment of the effectiveness of our educational programs. Further organizational details will follow over the next few weeks. Please join me in congratulating Sharon for assuming this vitally important leadership position.
