UNC’s Student National Dental Association (SNDA) Gets Involved!

The UNC dental school Student National Dental Association (SNDA) chapter hosted a dental fair Saturday, Aug 30, 2003 from 10 am to 2 pm. The dental fair was held at the Ridgeway Baptist Church, in Ridgeway, NC. It was sponsored by the United Shiloh Missionary Baptist Association. SNDA along with local volunteers provided dental screenings, applied fluoride varnish, and distributed information on dental care, toothbrushes and toothpaste to children of the Warren County area. Oral hygiene instructions were demonstrated. Dental treatment was also provided to children on the NC Baptist Men’s Dental Bus.

The fully equipped Dental Bus is an evangelistic ministry of NC Baptist Men, in cooperation with the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina, and is designed to meet the physical and spiritual needs of special groups of people in North Carolina. Approximately 20 children were screened and over half received free dental treatment.
