Felton Named Editor-in-Chief of JP

David A. Felton, DDS, MS, FACP, Associate Professor of Prosthodontics at the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill School of Dentistry has been named Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Prosthodontics. The announcement was made March 4 by the Board of Directors of the American College of Prosthodontists. Dr. Felton will assume the responsibilities of Editor-in-Chief on April 1, 2003.

Dr. Felton served as Assistant Editor of the Journal of Dentistry and the Journal of Prosthodontic Dentistry and on the Editorial Review Board of the Journal of Prosthodontic Dentistry and the Clinical Oral Implants Research journal prior to this appointment.

He is the Immediate Past-President of the American College of Prosthodontists, served as Chair of Prosthodontics at UNC from 1992-2002, and served as Graduate Program Director for Prosthodontics at UNC on multiple occasions. Dr. Felton earned his DDS and MS in Prosthodontics degrees from the UNC School of Dentistry. In 1996 he successfully completed the American Board of Prosthodontics Certification examination and became a Diplomate of the Board. He is active in dental implant and all-ceramic crown research, and serves as Principal Investigator on two multi-year clinical research trials. Dr. Felton holds memberships in the many dental organizations, including the American and International Colleges of Prosthodontists, the Academy of Osseointegration, the Academy of Prosthodontics, and the International College of Dentists.
