School Launches Clinical Academy in Esthetic Dentistry

In response to an increasing demand for more clinical participation courses the School of Dentistry launched its first offering in the newly established North Carolina Academy for Advance Clinical Dentistry. A hands-on continuum in conservative esthetic dentistry was held at the School, August 23 – 24 focusing on dentin adhesives, bonding to porcelain and metal, and clinical techniques for porcelain veneers, ceramic inlays/onlays and all- porcelain bonded bridges. Seventeen practitioners participated in the two-day program and were extremely pleased with the hands-on opportunities. Course faculty included Drs. Ed Swift, Harald Heymann and Andre Ritter all from the Department of Operative Dentistry.
