President of Singapore Welcomes Dean Stamm
It was indeed a great honor for Dean John Stamm to be selected by the National University of Singapore (NUS) Alumni Association as the 2001 Alumni Association Rotating Visiting Professor. It was also a great honor for both Dean Stamm and his wife, Carol, to be welcomed to the country and to the prestigious alumni dinner by Singapore President S. R. Nathan.
Graduates from the medical, dental and pharmacy faculties at NUS make up the alumni association membership and the professorship is rotated among these three schools each year. Dean Stamm’s presentation, New Insights into Oral and Systemic Diseases, was well received and generated a lively discussion from participants.
During that same visit Dean Stamm signed a memorandum of understanding with the NUS Faculty of Dentistry to establish academic collaboration and scholarly exchange between the two schools of dentistry. Activities will include basic and clinical research, graduate studies and continuing education, exchange of information and material, exchange of faculty and staff and the development of student exchange programs.
